In memory of our former Treasurer Barry Parker who passed away earlier this year, resident Snooker Professional and former Braintree Snooker League player Ali Carter will be ready with his hair clippers on Saturday 11 October 2014 from 2pm at Stepfield Snooker Club in Witham to cut off the long locks of Barry’s daughter Debbie to raise money for Farleigh Hospice. So why not come along to ‘Ali’s Barbers’ and support this excellent fund raising event.
Two-time Worlds Snooker Championship runner-up Ali has suffered his own health issues in recent years not only with his long term battle with Crohn’s disease, beating testicular cancer, but more recently being diagnosed with a form of lung cancer. After his intense course of chemotherapy, Ali has responded well to treatment and hopes to return to the professional circuit this season. Ali’s inner belief to not only take on fighting cancer but to beat it twice is incredible and he is a true inspiration to all those who are on the same journey.
